We work with you to pick out the skylight size, shape, and style that you want, then our qualified team begins the installation process.

Skylight Repair

If your skylight is damaged, getting it repaired as soon as possible will save you a tremendous amount of money in the future. There are a number of things that can go wrong with the skylight in your house or business, and knowing the signs will prevent trouble in the future. If you notice any of the following things, call a specialist immediately for an inspection and repair:

  • If the seams on your skylight have become detached, appear open, or are not creating suction.
  • If you have had recent roof damage due to a large storm that brought debris, hail, or wind. If your roof is damaged, the odds are more likely that your skylight is damaged as well.
  • If there is condensation building up on the inside of your skylight.
  • If your skylight is leaking water into your home.
  • If you see any discolored or peeling drywall around your skylight. This is a sign that moisture is entering your house and could cause serious long-term damage if not addressed.

If you are not sure whether or not your skylight is in need of repair, give us a call and we will come perform an inspection. Our expert team will be able to identify if you need a repair like new flashing installation or resealing of the skylight, or if it needs to be replaced.

Skylight Replacement

Cheyenne Mountain Roofing is your skylight replacement company, as we have had years of experience and work with the best manufacturers to get you a brand new skylight in replace of your old or damaged one. Many factors can lead towards the need for replacement, including poor installation, a lack of sealing when installed, storm damage, or cracks in the sealing or in the glass itself. If your skylight is facing any of these symptoms, it could cause serious damage in the future if not replaced in a timely manner.

Signs that you need to get your skylight replaced

  • Age: The lifespan of a skylight has a number of variables that determine its longevity, including the material, the shape, and the initial installation. For example, the typical acrylic skylight lasts about 10 years, while incredibly high quality skylights can last up to 20 years. A rule of thumb is to get your skylight inspected at year 10 to judge its potential lifespan, and if it has reached its age maximum.
  • Water Seepage: If you notice that your ceiling is damp or stained, or if there is discolored, bubbling, or peeling drywall near the skylight, these are all signs that moisture is passing through your roof via skylight and penetrating the interior of your home. This is a serious issue, as water damage can be a costly fix for ceilings, walls, drywall, and even personal belongings.
  • Drafts: If there are serious drafts that come from your skylight, this means that the sealing is beginning to fault, and air is getting through into your home. This can cause major temperature regulation issues as well as the chance for water damage if a storm passes through.
  • Cracks: If you can see visible cracks in the glass of your skylight, or even in the sealing, this is a sign that you need to get it replaced. Like the other signs, this could cause water seepage, air drafts, and poor insulation.
  • Leaks: If you notice pools of water under your skylight after a rain storm, there is probably a leak. Whether there is a crack in the glass or an issue in the sealant, leaks are serious and need to be addressed immediately.
